Installation in the Al 12 inch PowerBook

Installation of the MacNTouch in the 12" Al PowerBook requires a little work with a screwdriver but it's quite a bit simpler than with the bigger PowerBooks. Installation of the MacNTouch in the 15" Al PowerBook requires some disassembly of the PowerBook. This can be done by anybody who can wield a screwdriver and follow simple directions. The installation should take 30-45 minutes. If you don't have the time or the inclination to see the insides of your PowerBook then you can elect to have an Apple certified technician install the MacNTouch for you. MacNTouch Installation in Ti 15 inch PowerBook

1. Shut down the PowerBook. 2. Remove the existing keyboard. Although this can be done in about 20 seconds we recommend that you follow the procedures developed by Apple. Reading the procedure and removing the keyboard should not take more than 5 minutes. 3. Install the MacNTouch Keyboard. This should only take about a minute. The MacNTouch just snaps in and the only thing left to do is to push the ribbon cable into the USB port. MacNTouch Removal 1. Shut down the PowerBook. 2. Remove the MacNTouch keyboard.

MacNTouch Installation in 12 inch iBook (dual-USB thru G4 models)

1. Shut down the iBook and remove the battery. 2. Remove the existing keyboard. Although this can be done in about 20 seconds we recommend that you follow the procedures provided by Apple for the dual-USB/late-2001 and G4-iBook models. (Though separate documents are provided, the procedure is basically the same for all white iBook models). Reading the procedure and removing the keyboard should not take more than 5 minutes. 3. Without plugging anything back into the computer's old keyboard-ribbon connector, re-install the RAM-shield and airport card as instructed by Apple. 4. Install the MacNTouch Keyboard. This should only take a couple minutes.
